Coaching FAQs

Starting coaching can feel like a big step – especially if you’ve never done anything like this before. This page walks you through how booking works, what to expect, and the practicalities, so you can decide whether coaching feels like a good fit for you right now.

What to expect from my coaching

Is coaching right for you?

Coaching works best if you’re curious about change, open to reflection, and willing to experiment with small, realistic shifts in how you think, feel or act.

Coaching may not be the right fit if you’re looking for:

  • Therapy or mental health treatment

  • Medical or nutritional prescriptions

  • Someone to tell you exactly what to do

If you’re unsure, a short discovery call can help you sense whether coaching feels like the right support at this stage.

How booking works

  1. Choose your coaching option
Browse my coaching options to find the one that feels like the best starting point for you.

  2. Request a discovery call to check that we are a good fit for each other as coach and client.

  3. Complete a pre-session questionnaire
This helps me understand what you’d like support with and makes your first session more useful from the start.

  4. Attend your session (online)
Sessions take place online via Zoom. You’ll receive joining details after we've agreed the date and time of your booking.

  5. Reflect and decide next steps
After your session/s, you can decide whether ongoing coaching feels helpful for you. My follow-up sessions are at a lower rate.

Session logistics

  • My one-to-one sessions are held online via Zoom

  • Session length: unless otherwise agreed, my one-to-one sessions are 90 minutes for a first session and 75 minutes for follow-up sessions

  • You’ll receive a confirmation email with your session link

  • Please join from a quiet, private space where you feel able to speak openly

  • After the session, I email a summary of the discussion along with any action points

  • You can request your session to be recorded and a link to the recording will be emailed to you within 24 hours of our meeting

What to expect from coaching

Coaching is a reflective, conversational space. We’ll explore what matters to you, what might be getting in your way, and what small, realistic changes feel supportive for your 'next step'.

Many clients notice over time:

  • clearer decision-making

  • less harsh self-talk

  • greater confidence in their own judgement

  • feeling less stuck in familiar patterns

There’s absolutely no pressure to perform or to be “good at coaching”. Showing up as you are is enough.

What coaching can and can't offer

Coaching is not a replacement for therapy, counselling, medical care or mental health support.

If you’re currently in crisis or need specialist clinical support, there will be more appropriate next steps. Your GP can help with this.

Coaching focuses on supporting agency, insight and sustainable change in your day-to-day life.

Terms & Conditions at a glance

  • Sessions are paid for in advance

  • Cancellation or rescheduling requires a minimum of 24 hours’ notice

  • Missed sessions may be charged

  • Coaching is confidential within professional and legal boundaries

  • You can pause or stop coaching at any time

Full Terms & Conditions are provided following a discovery call and prior to a first session.

Do I need to know what I want to work on before booking?

Not at all. Many people come with a general sense of feeling 'stuck' rather than having a clearly defined goal.

How many sessions will I need?

You can book just one session, but - realistically - 3 sessions is a minimum for exploratory wellness coaching. This would normally be sufficient for a single-issue focus, but it all depends on what you wish to discuss.

I do offer a 2-session Bespoke Wellness option, from which you'll get a 'roadmap' for your next steps, but many clients then book follow-up sessions as they make progress on their bespoke wellness roadmaps.

What if I'm not sure coaching is for me?

A discovery call is a no-pressure way to explore whether coaching in general (and coaching with me) feels like a good fit for you.

Is what I share in a session confidential?

Yes, within professional and legal boundaries.
